All in all, if they fix the line of sight issues then I'm all set for Xenonauts 2. I'm not sure if I will return to the original X-Com, maybe I played it "wrong" during the first few in-game months and fell behind. It was also a more tense experience due to the fact that you can't sell Alien weapons "picked up" during battles (they're instantly converted to cash that doesn't break the game). Maybe I didn't pay too much attention with X-Com, but I liked how Xenonauts showed you how your soldiers were improving, particularly which stats. I was able to make easy money this way and speed my way to the end. All told I airstriked far more sites than I did tackle with soldiers on the ground. However, Xenonauts lets you "airstrike" crash sites for easy/fast cash (in leu of soldier xp and resources) which is probably why I ended up finishing this game. Capture alien officer (wtf) So, first time trying this game, and boy capturing alien officers is wrecking me hard. As for the bases, do I need to 'deliberately' let some medium alien vessels land repeatedly Is patrolling necessary to detect them And will the bases develop in size if left alone for some time EDIT : I've just found this Link. Well, that's enough for the scientist to get to work. I started to feel fatigued here too, around the same time: same ufos, same layout, same tactics. Youll have to capture a really big ship and officers OR capture a base. Now I'm in 1982 and have captured 1 Leader so far. I dropped the original X-Com due to fatigue felt during clearing the larger UFOs over and over and over again. The only bug I encountered was when I captured an alien leader the game registered it as dead instead of captured, but this fixed itself after I.
